Description

This Content Writer is able to work out of either Omaha, Nebraska or Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

Axos Bank is seeking a Content Writer to support the marketing and communications initiatives of Axos Invest and Axos Clearing. The primary purpose of this position is to create and write content for external audiences, based on information-gathering as well as collaboration with applicable individuals/departments. Successful candidates must be able to translate complex topics into conversational articles that frame the answers with the target audience in mind.  Topics will include investing, securities, personal finance, and other finance-related topics. This position will report directly to the SVP, Corporate Communications, but will collaborate closely with the relevant teams at Axos Invest and Axos Clearing.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Write and edit high-quality stories and content with a strong focus on the target audience, including, but not limited to: blog articles, marketing emails, website copy, promotional offerings, newsletters, organizational messaging, video concepts/scripts, sales collateral, and media-related requests
  • Write for consumer and business audiences
  • Deliver at minimum 2 blog articles for publication each month
  • Learn and apply Axos brand voice and tone guidelines
  • Collaborate with department/project teams to provide required communications support
  • Share expertise and timely/relevant ideas to support content marketing efforts of the division
  • Leverage insights from analytics to grow traffic and improve the user experience through new content and optimizations
  • Contribute ideas that strengthen Axos' approach to content and email marketing
  • Ensure full compliance with Axos Securities policies and procedures

Key Skill Sets or Knowledge Requirements

  • Experienced writing for consumer and business audiences
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Exceptional writing/editing and verbal communication skills, empathize with consumers and help them navigate complex financial decisions
  • Resourceful, self-directed, detail-oriented, and versatile to deliver story assignments and projects with minimal direction and consistently deliver polished work
  • Highly organized and prioritize well multiple competing projects
  • Creative thinker
  • Work collaboratively and support teams
  • Embrace change

Desired Career Experience & Education Requirements

  • 5+ years' relevant work experience in public relations, marketing and/or journalism; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in the investment and finance industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, marketing communications or related field

Preferred:

  • Personal finance, investment, and/or financial services writing
  • Business journalism
  • Familiarity with AP Style
